App Ads Manager: Privacy Policy
What the App Ads Manager iOS app collects, why, and what you can do about it. This document describes the app. The website privacy notice describes what appadsmanager.app processes when you visit it; the two are separate, and they change for separate reasons.

In short
App Ads Manager records how you use the app in detail, and that record is linked to your account. This includes video-style recordings of your screens, the full text of your conversations with the AI consultant, and full technical detail when something fails. It is used to run and improve this app, by us alone. None of it is sold, shared with data brokers, used for advertising, or combined with data from other companies, which is why the app does not ask for tracking permission.
What the app collects, and why
Everything below is linked to your account through your account identifier, so that behaviour, errors, purchases, and conversations from the same account can be read together.
- Account identifier. An identifier we generate for your account when you sign in. It is the key that ties the records below together. We do not send your Apple ID with it, and the only email address we ever hold is the research address you choose to give us (see “Market research” below).
- Your name, as your Apple Ads account holds it. Apple’s API returns the display name on your Apple Ads organisation, and the app shows it to you in Settings. Because session recordings are unmasked, that name appears in a recording of that screen and is stored with it.
- Usage data. Which screens you open, which actions you take, and when.
- Session recordings. The app records your sessions as a replay of what was on screen, unmasked: real figures, real campaign and app names, your own name as Settings shows it, and your AI conversations appear in the recording as you saw them. Recordings are used to understand where the app confuses people.
- Apple Ads account data shown on screen. Your Apple Ads organisation (Org), campaign, ad group, keyword, and app names, and your spend, budget, and bid figures, insofar as they appear in your usage data, recordings, and AI conversations. We never see your Apple payment details; the app has no access to them.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports, and full error detail when a request fails: the error message, the address of the request, the HTTP status, and the affected organisation identifier.
- AI consultant conversations. Every turn is retained: your question, the consultant’s reply, the data tools it used, how long it took, how many tokens it cost, and whether it failed.
- Purchase and subscription events. Trial starts, conversions, renewals, cancellations, billing problems, and refunds, from our payments provider. We never receive your card or payment details.
- A push notification token, if you turn on alerts or the weekly audit. It identifies your device to Apple’s push service so we can deliver those notifications, and nothing else.
- Your research email address, only if you give it. See “Market research” below.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, or the contents of other apps.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no advertising networks, no data brokers.
- No selling or renting of your data.
- No combining of your data with data from other companies or other apps.
- No automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
- Because none of the above happens, the app does not use App Tracking Transparency and never asks for permission to track you.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the usage data, session recordings, diagnostics, AI conversation retention, and purchase events: operating, debugging, and improving a small subscription app that we cannot otherwise see failing. You can object at any time (see “Your rights”), and we will stop processing your data for these purposes.
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) for the account identifier and the data needed to deliver the service you subscribed to.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for two things only, each separately given and separately withdrawable in Settings: sending your Apple Ads account data to the AI consultant, and joining the market-research pool with your email address.
Market research
If, and only if, you choose to join, you can give us an email address so we can invite you to a product research conversation. That address is used for that single purpose. It is never used for marketing, newsletters, or product announcements, and it is never shared. You can leave the pool at any time in Settings, which deletes the address from our analytics. Declining, or ignoring the ask, changes nothing else about the app.
The AI consultant
When you use the AI consultant, your questions and the relevant campaign data from your Apple Ads account are sent to Microsoft Azure OpenAI to produce an answer. That data is not used to train AI models, and the service is separate from OpenAI’s own consumer products. Microsoft may retain content flagged by its abuse-monitoring systems for up to 30 days.
Sending your account data to the consultant requires your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings at any time. Retention of the resulting conversation is separate: once a turn has happened, we keep the record of it as described above, and that retention is covered by our legitimate interests rather than by that consent.
Who processes your data
- PostHog (EU cloud): analytics, session recordings, crash and error reports, AI conversation records.
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase status.
- Microsoft Azure: our backend, and Azure OpenAI for the AI consultant.
- Apple: the App Store, and the Apple Ads API your account connects to.
Each acts as a processor on our instructions, or as an independent controller for its own service (Apple).
How long we keep it
- Session recordings: 90 days, then deleted by our analytics provider.
- Usage, diagnostic, purchase, and AI conversation records: for as long as you use the app, and afterwards while they remain useful for understanding the product, unless you ask for deletion.
- Your research email: until you leave the research pool or ask for deletion.
- AI conversation history shown in the app is stored on your device and goes when the app does.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection (Art. 15 to 21), including objection to the legitimate-interest processing described above. Email hello@appadsmanager.app and we will service the request across every system named here. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI).
Children
The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this policy when what we collect changes, and the change will be published before or at the same time as the app version that makes it true.
